For counselors

Exactly what the family chose to share. Nothing else.

Bloom is a self-hosted companion that lives with the family. When a student wants your eyes on their progress, they send a link that decrypts only in your browser. No account, no install, no new platform to learn.

A short email conversation — no demo installs, no sales sequence.

End-to-end encrypted sharing

The server between you can't read the file.

Share links are end-to-end encrypted. The decryption key travels in the link itself — in the URL fragment, which browsers never send to a server — so the relay in the middle only ever holds ciphertext.

A labeled diagram of the share pipeline — not a screenshot. The cryptography is real; the boxes are ours.

Working with shares

Built to respect your time and their trust.

No account, no install
A share link opens in any browser — nothing to sign up for, nothing for your IT department to approve.
Optional PIN
For a snapshot that deserves extra care, the student adds a PIN and hands it to you separately.
One-click revoke
The student can turn any share off the moment they want to. A revoked link goes dark immediately — no copies linger on a server.
Consent is the design
There is no counselor portal into the family's data. Every share is an affirmative choice by the student, scoped to that snapshot.

What arrives

The context you usually have to chase.

A shared snapshot brings the working facts of a student's application into one page you can read in two minutes.

Brag sheet, their words
Assembled from the student's own questionnaire answers — activities, awards, context — not AI-invented. A clean starting point for recommendation letters.
Application progress
Common App sections, per-college portals and term plans, and deadline status — where things stand, without a meeting to find out.
Activities at the real limits
Descriptions already at the Common App's 50, 100, and 150 character limits, so what you review is what gets submitted.
The ninth-grade conversation, already had
Underclassman families can arrive having done the freshman check at home: Bloom's On Track computes the research-backed ninth-grade signal from a report card and frames a miss as worth a conversation, not a crisis.

Academic integrity

Words you can vouch for.

You put your name behind students. Bloom's AI is built so that what a student shows you is theirs to stand behind.

No ghostwriting

The coach asks; the student writes.

No draft exists until the student supplies real, specific material — and thin spots get a bracketed placeholder, never an invented detail.

Provenance

AI-drafted text is labeled until rewritten.

Essays, supplement answers, and brag-sheet drafts carry a visible badge until the student has substantially made them their own.

AI draft — make it yours

Policy-aware

College AI policies, shown in-workspace.

The Common App's fraud policy and individual colleges' AI rules — the UC system, Caltech, Georgia Tech, and more — appear beside the student's work, dated and linked to the official source.

Learning, not shortcuts

The study tutor teaches; it won't do the homework.

Bloom's Learning Lab tutor (grades 9–12) explains a concept and draws the diagram, but it stays on the topic and declines to hand over answers to a specific assignment — study help you can stand behind, alongside curated lessons with reviewed practice.

If a family asks

What families pay

Counselors never pay for Bloom — families run it at home. When one asks you about it, here is the whole pricing story.

Grades 9 & 10

Foundation

$99 per month

The exploring years — interests, opportunities, and an early story-bank.

  • Everything Bloom does, for the whole family
  • Learning Lab — curated lessons with reviewed practice and a study tutor that teaches, never does the homework
  • Quarterly Family Check-Ins and the On Track ninth-grade signal
  • Opportunity discovery and status-aware scholarships
  • Up to 150 AI conversations a day

Grades 11 & 12

Application

$149 per month

Testing, essays, applications, and aid — the heavy-writing years.

  • Everything Bloom does, for the whole family — same product
  • Common App tracking, the essay coach that never ghostwrites, and brag sheets in the student's words
  • Encrypted counselor sharing — a snapshot that decrypts only in your browser
  • Up to 400 AI conversations a day

Same product on both plans. What a student sees follows their grade, not the plan — the Application plan only raises the daily AI allowance. Both include a 14-day free trial; card up front, cancel anytime.

Fifteen quiet minutes, whenever suits.
